Kilkenny Public Participation Network has launched the new Social Inclusion Plan designed to strengthen how social inclusion concerns are raised, structured and progressed within local decision-making.

The Plan introduces a practical and transparent participation model that helps ensure the lived experience of disadvantage, exclusion and inequality can inform local governance in a more consistent and credible way.

The Social Inclusion system is designed to focus on systemic community issues rather than individual casework. It provides a clear pathway through which issues can be submitted, reviewed, validated, progressed through appropriate governance structures, and reported back.

The Plan strengthens the connection between community organisations, elected representatives and local authority structures, helping to ensure that community experience becomes a clearer part of local policy discussion and decision-making.

The approach is practical, proportionate and designed to work within existing governance arrangements while protecting volunteer capacity and maintaining clear boundaries.

We encourage your group to include the PPN as a standing item on the agenda at your committee meetings. When you wish to raise a social inclusion issue with the County Council, please use the PPN Social Inclusion Issue Submission Form.
