About Kilkenny PPN

The Kilkenny Public Participation Network (PPN) is the new structure and platform by which the local community can engage with Kilkenny County Council. It forms the link between local Voluntary & Community, Social Inclusion, and Environmental sectors and the local governing body.

Established in 2014 through the Local Government Reform Act 2014,  the PPN ensures that the public can have their say on local government decisions.

“Getting Citizens Online” Training Scheme2018-03-12T09:50:24+00:00

The Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment is funding community, voluntary and not-for-profit organisations to provide citizens with basic digital skills training under the “Digital Skills for Citizens” Grant Scheme. The scheme aims to provide citizens who have never used the internet with the confidence, motivation and skills to reap the benefits of today’s digital world.

Training classes are provided free of charge with a view to removing a key barrier to digital adoption. Training is targeted at people over 45, farming communities, small business owners, the unemployed, persons with disabilities and disadvantaged groups.
