About Kilkenny PPN

The Kilkenny Public Participation Network (PPN) is the new structure and platform by which the local community can engage with Kilkenny County Council. It forms the link between local Voluntary & Community, Social Inclusion, and Environmental sectors and the local governing body.

Established in 2014 through the Local Government Reform Act 2014,  the PPN ensures that the public can have their say on local government decisions.

Plenary April 24th 20192019-06-17T14:37:25+01:00

The following motions were passed by plenary on the 24th of April 2019

  • 2.3.20  In the event of a member of the Secretariat and/or PPN representative failing, without sending prior apologies, to attend two consecutive meetings of a committee on which s/he represents the PPN and of which s/he has been properly notified, s/he will be deemed to have resigned from that committee.
  • Plenary recognises the role of the PPN as a fundamental driver of policy development and active participation.  Following on from the recent regional conference of the environmental pillars of the PPN’s within the South-east on the 23rd of February in Kilkenny, it was proposed that each PPN formally ratify the Sustainable Development Goals with a view to incorporating SDG’s into all forms of strategic policy development going forward.
