Have Your Say – Social Inclusion Plan

The Social Inclusion Pillar of Kilkenny PPN is developing a new Social Inclusion Plan for the county. As part of this work, we are looking at how the Pillar can best support organisations on the ground and strengthen how social inclusion issues are highlighted and understood across the county. We have asked our facilitator, Rita Kearney, to do this planning work on our behalf.

We know there is already excellent work taking place in Kilkenny, and we are reaching out to organisations supporting young people, ethnic minority communities, older people, people with disabilities, family support services, domestic violence supports, rapid-response groups, and wider community action initiatives.

Our aim is to add value, complement existing work, and strengthen the voice of communities who may find it harder to be heard.  The new Plan will help create a coordinated countywide approach that lifts community voices, supports joined-up effort, and focuses attention on emerging inequalities – through leadership, facilitation, shared insights, and strategic engagement.

December Workshops

As part of the planning process, we are holding a series of local 3-hour workshops across the county in early December. Each session will include:

  • A short introduction to the aims of the Social Inclusion Plan
  • A structured group discussion on local social inclusion issues
  • Space to share experiences, challenges, and ideas
  • A short break with light refreshments provided

We would be delighted if you – and anyone in your network – could attend the workshop nearest to you.

Online Survey

We are also inviting organisations to complete a short online survey as part of the planning work:

Your feedback – through the survey or the workshops – will help us capture real experiences and priorities from groups working on the ground.

If you prefer to share your thoughts directly, our facilitator, Rita Kearney, is available at (Please avoid including any personal or sensitive information in your email.)

Your input is very important to us, and we would truly value your participation. The more voices we hear, the stronger and more useful the final Plan will be.
