Kilkenny PPN Urges You to Support Front Line Workers

Be Part of “Fly the Flag” initiative

Kilkenny Flag

Families and Young people are being asked to show their colours in a new campaign to fly a flag in support of frontline workers in the battle against Covid-19.

The initiative is being spearheaded by all of the major teacher bodies and is calling on young people to put club, county or any sporting colours they like up in their homes as a public display of gratitude for the efforts of the medical community and other essential frontline services in the fight against coronavirus.

Kilkenny PPN is asking all member groups to encourage members of their respective organisations and their families and friends to participate in this initiative.

During this time, it is inevitable that morale will reduce and communities and individuals alike will feel alone and in need of some support. This is also the case for all those individuals who are at the cold face.

While we cannot support our front line workers physically, we can show our respect and support for their commitment and continued hard work in the face of this pandemic.

In conjunction with the Teachers Unions- IPPN, INTO, NAPD, TUI and ASTI and the GAA, Kilkenny PPN is proposing that as a show of support for those workers and volunteers on frontlines.

Everyone is encouraged to fly a flag or to make a flag which represents a team and or sport that you support…..GAA, Soccer, Rugby, Cricket, Baseball etc

You place the flag where you normally would before an important game, perhaps in your windows, your front door, your garden or driveway

We want to see as much colour and vibrancy as possible to demonstrate how much we support those workers. The aim is to get every housing estate, every lane, every road covered in a kaleidoscope of colour and cheer.

Don’t forget to take a picture of your efforts and send into Kilkenny PPN-
