Kilkenny PPN is pleased to share that we have submitted a response to the recent public consultation held by Kilkenny County Council on its Draft Kilkenny County Council Climate Action Plan 2024-2029.
Our submission draws from broad community feedback and reflects Kilkenny PPN’s Vision for Community Wellbeing, aligning climate action with the needs of local communities. We highlighted the importance of actionable, community-driven climate strategies and called for more concrete targets and timelines.
The submission addresses key areas such as transport and mobility, renewable energy, flood control, biodiversity, the circular economy, and climate justice. It also stresses the need for improved public engagement, accessibility, and inclusive planning—underscoring our belief that strong climate policy must be both effective and equitable.
