As part of Eurochild and Terre des hommes’ sub-granting programme, as part of the Daphne-CHILD programme, civil society organisations working to address violence against children can apply for funding between €10,000 – €30,000 Euro.

The Community Water Development Fund aims to fund projects that will bring about improvements in water quality and/or raise public awareness of the value of good water quality and how to improve it. It aims to build community capacity in water related challenges, working together to improve water quality. The Fund is administered by the Local Authority Waters Programme on behalf of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

Yulefest – Christmas in Kilkenny 2024 is offering grant-aid to enable towns and villages in the Municipal Districts of Kilkenny County to enhance the 2024 Christmas experience for everyone in their area. Applications can only be submitted by established local community groups. Individuals cannot apply.
The funding is available to community organisations to dress and light your town or village or create an outdoor public Christmas experiences or events which would be accessible and applicable to all of the community for example;
- Dressing towns and villages for Christmas in a sustainable, environmentally friendly way.
- Creating / Lighting /Decorating a specific area in the community with a Yulefest ‘Christmas in Kilkenny’ theme;
- Organising a Christmas event which engages local performers e.g. Choral/music performances;
- Organising ‘green’ environmental Christmas activities – e.g. community Christmas cycle, walk, trail etc.
Preference is given to applications which are aligned with the ethos of Yulefest, that of inclusivity, participation and engagement across the entire community.

Rethink Ireland has recently launched the third open call of the Hybrid Social Finance Loan, a unique opportunity for social enterprises to develop a credit record and increase their financial sustainability. A total of €550,000 is available for loans and cash support for this round. Applications will close once all awards have been allocated. This initiative is possible through Department of Rural and Community Development funding via the Dormant Accounts Fund as well as loans from Community Finance Ireland.

The fund is designed to empower local communities to take an active role in the Green Transition—a collective shift toward greener, more sustainable living.

The SEAI Community Grant supports energy efficiency community projects through capital funding, partnerships, and technical support.
Through the support of SEAI, communities are improving the energy efficiency of shared community buildings and businesses are becoming more competitive through reduced energy costs. In addition, homes are being upgraded making them more comfortable and helping alleviate the effects of energy poverty.
This SEAI Community Grant is managed by Project Co-ordinators. If you are a local community service operator and you are interested in applying for the Community Grant, it is advised that you get in touch with a project coordinator.
The Movement for Good Awards opens its doors for nominations, providing an opportunity for charities to receive a €1,000 boost. This initiative, having already donated over €5 million since its inception in 2019, is committed to making a positive impact by supporting a diverse range of causes.
Nominations are now officially open and can be submitted quickly and easily at www.movementforgood.com. Randomly selected winners will be announced, and the more nominations a charity receives, the greater its chances of being chosen.

- Club Development Grant — This grant is designed to support clubs and volunteers to increase participation in sport and physical activity in Kilkenny. This fund aims to encourage the setup of new clubs and assist existing clubs to attract new participants.
- Women in Sport Support Fund —This fund is designed to enable clubs and organisations to develop programmes that specifically target and support women’s participation in sport.
- Dormant Accounts Volunteer Support Fund — This fund is designed to enable clubs and organisations to increase the number of people of all ages playing a leadership role in developing sports and physical activity in their communities.

Successful expression of Interest Application will demonstrate close collaboration between communities and business interests in the design and delivery of proposed projects and must have the support of the Local Authority.

The Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant is a grant you can get if you are bringing a vacant property back into use as your permanent home or a rental property. A grant of up to €50,000 is available. An additional top-up grant amount of up to €20,000 can be sought, if the property is derelict (deemed structurally unsound and dangerous). The grant is inclusive of VAT.
The purpose of the ‘Small Business Vacant Premises Incentive Scheme’ is to give an incentive, to a start up business or a small business expanding, to occupy previously vacant commercial property. Entry costs are lowered through a grant related to the level of rates payable on the property (not exceeding €5000p.a.).
The grant is based on a correlation to the business’s commercial rates paid on a reducing basis of 75%, 50% and 25%, over a three year period. This scheme will allow a business to receive up to €7500 over the three years of the scheme.
